Four phases that build on each other — from business basics to field-ready certification.
Phase 1: Business Foundations
Learn the business side of franchise ownership — entity setup, legal requirements, insurance and bonding, basic accounting, tax obligations, and how to work with your Regional Developer. You’ll leave this phase with a registered business, proper insurance, and a clear understanding of your financial obligations.
Week 1 — Classroom & online modules
Phase 2: Cleaning Operations
Master JAN-PRO’s Signature Clean® system — the proprietary cleaning methodology that sets our franchise owners apart. Hands-on training covers equipment operation, chemical dilution and safety (OSHA/SDS), surface-specific techniques, restroom sanitation protocols, and EnviroShield® electrostatic disinfection.
Weeks 2-3 — Hands-on lab & classroom
Phase 3: Customer Service & Management
Build the skills to retain clients and grow your business. This phase covers client communication, handling complaints, quality self-inspections, managing cleaning crews, hiring and training employees, scheduling optimization, and using the JAN-PRO technology platform.
Week 4 — Classroom, role-play & simulation
Phase 4: Field Training & Certification
Apply everything in a live commercial environment under the supervision of your Regional Developer. Complete supervised cleaning sessions, learn the JAN-PRO Tracker® 50-point inspection system, practice client walk-throughs, and pass the final certification exam to earn your JAN-PRO Certified Franchise Owner credential.

This isn't a one-day orientation with a manual. JAN-PRO's training program combines classroom instruction, hands-on lab work, role-play scenarios, and supervised field cleaning in real commercial facilities.
By the time you're certified, you've already cleaned real offices, practiced with real equipment, handled real client scenarios, and passed a comprehensive exam. You walk into your first account with confidence.

MEDMETRIX® Healthcare Certification
Specialized training for medical offices, dental practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and healthcare facilities. Covers infection control, bloodborne pathogen protocols, HIPAA-compliant cleaning, and Joint Commission readiness.
EnviroShield® Disinfection Certification
Advanced electrostatic disinfection training for high-risk environments. Covers EPA-registered disinfectant application, dwell-time protocols, and documentation for compliance-sensitive industries.
Floor Care Specialist
Hard floor maintenance including stripping, waxing, buffing, and specialty surface care for VCT, terrazzo, concrete, and hardwood. Includes equipment operation and finish selection.

The cleaning industry evolves — and so does your training. JAN-PRO franchise owners have access to ongoing education through regional workshops, online modules, annual conferences, and one-on-one coaching with their Business Consultant.
